In order to ensure effective implementation of child protection
programmes at grass-root levels, NISD collaborates with various Governmental
and Non-Governmental Organisations working at regional/state levels.
Funds for organizing training & sensitization programmes are provided
by NISD and the programmes are organised under overall supervision of
Child Protection Division of NISD. (Partners in Child Protection Programme)
United Nation Children's Fund (UNICEF): In order to ensure
care & protection of children in need, the Ministry of Social Justice
& Empowerment collaborates with UNICEF India Country Office on issues
related to non-institutional services for children including foster
care, domestic child work and children in need of care & protection
(including children infected & affected by HIV/AIDS and Drug Abuse).
A joint work plan of cooperation between UNICEF and the Ministry is
formulated and implemented every year. Various activities of this Work
Plan are implemented through NISD for which UNICEF supports a consultant
for providing technical backing. The Child Protection Division of NISD
is providing its assistance & support to the following activities
of the MSJ&E-UNICEF Work Plan for the year 2005 .
